Kervansaray Public Beach is now Disability-Friendly
Kervansaray Public Beach, Kyrenia is now Disability-Friendly
The infrastructure at the Kervansaray beach in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus has been renovated by the Municipality of Kyrenia. The municipality has always expressed its strong belief that everyone should have access to the beach and its facilities.
Ramparts were installed on the descending walkway to the beach and on the way to other facilities and the restaurant. Also, the showers, toilets and cabanas were modified for use by disabled people. Furthermore, a lifeguard tower was constructed on the terrace to improve the safety of swimmers at the beach. Thus, everyone can now safely enjoy the beach, sun and sea.
The mayor of Kyrenia, Niday Gungordu, has stated that the renovation of Kervansaray beach is only a first step in the grand project which is meant to increase the inclusion and protection of disabled people in Kyrenia. Apparently, the municipality is working tirelessly towards reaching its goals.
Kervansaray is a beautiful beach situated about 5 kilometers to the west of Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus. It can comfortably accommodate around 300 people. Facilities located at the beach include a cafe-bar and a restaurant with an interesting menu. These facilities are generally open from: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
